Electric/Hybrid Vehicle (IMI Level 1) Training Course

This entry-level training course is recommended for any member of staff who operates or drives electric and hybrid vehicles. The course duration will be approximately half a day, including a tea break, and we can offer discounts for multiple bookings.

This IMI qualification will give you the knowledge to work safely within various automotive industries and allow you to take advantage of the growth in Electric and Hybrid vehicles.

The training course is designed to provide you with an introduction to the knowledge of safe working practices, the dangers surrounding and the precautions required to avoid potential injury when near Electric/Hybrid vehicles.

This award qualification offers you an introduction to this growing industry sector, which may complement your current qualifications and experience. It will also enable you to continue working safely at work.

What’s covered on the IMI Level 1 Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Training Course

This IMI qualification has been designed to give you the knowledge needed to work safely around Electric/Hybrid vehicles and contains one mandatory unit covering:

Our training centre is based in Basingstoke and we work with MOT Vehicle Testing Stations from across the South of England.

What makes your training centre different?

At MOT Learning Services it’s about you and your future as an MOT tester. We are not a big company that needs to push through lots of testers, so what makes us different is that we take our time to make sure you receive the best and up to date course possible, giving you real life scenarios that we have come across as MOT testers.

Where is your training centre?

Level 1 Concept House, Bell Road, Basingstoke, RG24 8FB.

Do you supply refreshments?

We supply free coffee, tea, sugar and milk. You can purchase cans of drink from our fridge and packets of crisp’s there is an honesty box within the tearoom. If you bring lunch with you feel free to use the fridge if you’d like to buy lunch, then there are several options we will tell you these on the day.

ATA Light Vehicle Inspection Accreditation

How long does my ATA accreditation last for?

Your ATA accreditation will last for 3 years, you can re-accredit after the 3 years by coming back to our training centre and just completing 1 unit of the 5 from the first course, however once you have obtained your MOT qualification you do not need to keep the ATA accreditation active.

What will I need to do on the day of an ATA accreditation?

The ATA accreditation in light vehicle inspection technician is an assessment on your knowledge and ability to find and diagnose defects to a level 3 standard.

Task 1, You have 5 units to cover within the inspection and diagnosis section with reporting all your defects in writing on the day, You have 60 minutes per unit to complete each set task.

Task 2, You will need to carry out a knowledge-based exam 30 questions over 45 minutes with a 60% pass mark.

Task 3, Second exam which is another knowledge-based exam 10 questions over 15 minutes with a 60% pass mark.

  I honestly can’t recommend MOT Learning Services enough!

A few weeks ago, I completed my ATA course with Pete. It was brilliantly presented, and I immediately felt like I was somewhere I belonged. Nobody talked down to you, if that makes sense, and everything was explained in a friendly and relatable way. That made me keen to return and complete my MOT course there too.

Fast-forward a couple of weeks, and I was back again! This time I met Ian—what a great guy. He’s really down-to-earth, relatable and very good at both taking and delivering the banter! 🤣 More importantly, he teaches the material in a way you can genuinely understand, rather than simply repeating phrases from a textbook.

Then there’s Dave—a really nice fella who enjoys a laugh but also gets the job done. He’s also particularly happy when you bring biscuits! 🤣🤣

Finally, there’s Louise, Ian’s wife—and definitely the better half! 🤣 She does a fantastic job behind the scenes and made sure I had everything I needed to complete the course.

  Great experience here with Ian for the MOT Manager Course, could not recommend enough. His level of knowledge will be hard to find anywhere else and was of a great help.

  Attended MOT training course in January to become an MOT tester. Ian and the team were absolutely brilliant. Ian makes the course enjoyable as well as making sure all attendees understand the importance of the role of MOT tester and the implications it can have.
